The primary goal of modern dentistry is to prevent tooth loss. At Gyuricza & Hartman Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, we always make every attempt to treat your teeth and remedy any dental malady. Unfortunately, in some cases, damage to a tooth is in such an advanced stage that it cannot be saved, and extraction of the "hopeless" tooth may be the only course of treatment.
If a tooth is broken, cracked, or extensively decayed it may be deemed "hopeless" or non-restorable and thus require extraction. Likewise, a tooth that is associated with advanced stages of periodontal disease, poorly positioned, or non-functional should be removed. Most extractions and oral surgical procedures can be treated at our office, however we may choose to refer our patients to an oral and maxillofacial surgeon for certain cases or for patients who wish to have IV sedation.
